No chain restrictions in effect. Throughout the winter season call 1-800-427-ROAD - or check our 'Getting to Big Bear' page for chain requirements, road conditions, mountain routes map and current road info links. All vehicles including 4-wheel and All-wheel drives must always carry chains when traveling to or in the mountains during winter months, regardless of the chain requirements.

National Forest News... - 12/04/2009
The San Bernardino National Forest will be reconstructing Polique Canyon Road, 2N09, near Big Bear Lake beginning Tuesday, November 24th and continuing through Spring 2010. The road, which begins at Highway 38 about 2 miles east of Fawnskin and ends at Holcomb Valley Road, 3N16, will be closed intermittently to public use from November 24th until inclement weather precludes work and then will resume in the spring.
